I'm a painter, using acrylic, oil, and gouache. though I do dabble in other mediums - ceramics, jewelry, furniture, charcoal and welding. A theme I like to explore is beauty contrasted with darkness/monsters. It interests me when innocence is juxtaposed with a dark force. Purity in the face of evil. I'm also driven by a need to paint the beauty I'd like to see, what I can imagine in my head.
I've taken many classes - I'm a few classes from graduating with my associate's degree. I've taken furniture (I, II, advanced projects in wood (twice)) ceramics (I and II), jewelry (I, II and an enamal course), welding for sculpture (I and II), life drawing, printmaking, painting, 3-d printing, and drawing. I am mostly self-taught as a painter, but I am taking classes now.
I hope to gain experience as a painter, try different techniques, explore different themes, improve the quality of my paintings and be surrounded by acommunity of other artists. Theres so much to learn and painting lights a fire inside me unlike anything else.
